BMW K100 SEG Special

This BMW K100 served with the Special Escort Group of the Metropolitan Police, London, England.
As with the earlier R80, its duties were the escorting and protection of Royalty and dignitaries. Vehicle Developments built them to the Force's own specifications. These specials only have a small handlebar fairing. The lower leg shields are adapted and modified from the K100RT full fairing. A custom made filler panel joins them to the petrol tank. Less bodywork allowed the officer to be more visible when controlling traffic but still gave them protection from the elements. Only thirty two were custom made of each model and only a few survive.
The model pictured is from 1988 and has been restored back to its original livery.
